Safety Alert Patrol, Inc. ("SAP," "we," "us") is a national nonprofit that connects schools, houses of worship, and medical facilities with retired military veterans and law enforcement officers. This policy describes what information we collect through safetyalertpatrol.org (this website) and how we use it. Our signup and matching application at app.safetyalertpatrol.org and our donation processor may collect additional information under their own terms, described below.
Information we collect
- Email address — if you enter it in a form on this site, it is used to start your registration in our signup application or to send you updates you requested. We do not sell or rent email addresses.
- Information you send us directly — if you contact us by email or phone, we receive whatever you choose to share.
- Anonymous interaction events — we count actions such as signup-link clicks, donation-link clicks, and video plays to understand whether the site is useful. These events contain the page path and action name only; they do not contain your email address, account identifier, cookies, or URL query string. We honor browser Do Not Track settings.
- Technical information — our hosting provider may log standard technical data (such as IP address and pages visited) to operate and secure the site.
What we don't do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not display advertising on this website.
- We do not use this website to build advertising profiles, and the only tracking cookies we set are those used by the Google Ads, Leadfeeder, and Metricool services described below.
Third-party services
Some actions on this site take you to services operated by others, which have their own privacy policies:
- Signup application (app.safetyalertpatrol.org) — where guardian and organization accounts are created and matches are made.
- Donorbox — processes donations; SAP does not receive or store your payment card details.
- Google Ads — we run ads that link to this site, and Google's conversion tag measures how many visitors go on to click a signup or donation link. Google may set cookies in your browser for this measurement. This tag loads on every page of this site and is governed by Google's own privacy policy; our own anonymous interaction events still honor Do Not Track.
- Leadfeeder — identifies the company or organization a visitor is browsing from, using the visitor's IP address and a cookie it sets, so we can follow up with institutions that show interest. It tells us about organizations, not about you by name. It loads on every page of this site and is governed by Leadfeeder's own privacy policy.
- Metricool — measures how visitors arrive from our social media posts and what they do once here. It loads on every page of this site, may set cookies in your browser, and is governed by Metricool's own privacy policy.
- Video and font providers — pages may load fonts or media from third-party servers.
How we use information
We use the information above to operate and improve the SAP platform, respond to inquiries, process registrations, send updates you requested, and meet legal obligations. We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate (under confidentiality obligations), or where required by law.
Children
This website is intended for adults — school and facility administrators, veterans, and retired law enforcement officers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us at the address below. If you receive updates from us, every message includes a way to opt out, or you can simply ask.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on this page.
