These terms govern your use of safetyalertpatrol.org, operated by Safety Alert Patrol, Inc. ("SAP"), a nonprofit organization. By using this website, you agree to these terms. Accounts created in our signup application at app.safetyalertpatrol.org are governed additionally by the terms presented there.

What SAP is — and is not

SAP is a free matchmaking platform. We facilitate introductions between organizations (schools, houses of worship, medical facilities) and guardians (retired military veterans and law enforcement officers). Hiring, vetting, compensation, and service agreements are completed directly between the organization and the guardian. SAP publishes the SAP Vetting Standard as a baseline for those decisions, but SAP is not a party to any engagement, is not a staffing agency or security company, does not employ guardians, and does not supervise their services.

Your responsibilities

• Organizations are responsible for completing their own vetting, screening, and contracting of any guardian before service begins, including verification against the SAP Vetting Standard or their own requirements.
• Guardians are responsible for the accuracy of the credentials and information they present, and for complying with all licensing, permitting, and legal requirements applicable to their services.
• You agree to provide accurate information on this site and not to misuse it, interfere with its operation, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

No warranty

This website and the SAP platform are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. SAP does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, suitability, or outcome of any introduction, listing, or informational content on this site.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SAP and its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages — or for any acts or omissions of organizations or guardians introduced through the platform — arising out of or related to your use of this website or the platform.

Donations

Donations are processed by third-party providers under their own terms. Safety Alert Patrol, Inc. is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit; gifts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Intellectual property

The SAP name, logo, shield designation, and site content belong to SAP or its licensors and may not be used without permission. Partner and sponsor logos belong to their respective owners.

Links to other services

This site links to third-party services (including the signup application and donation processor). SAP is not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept them. We may suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana.
